Buy Local Norfolk Networking
If you’re looking for business networking opportunities in Norfolk, you should definitely come along to a Buy Local Norfolk networking evening. You’ll find our meetings amongst the friendliest in the county!
Held on the first Wednesday of each month, the venue moves each month so there’s bound to be one near you soon. The evenings are always well attended by local business owners and, what’s more, they’re completely FREE!
You can always find details of the next evening on our events page. We ideally ask people to register in advance using the link on the event listing so we know rough numbers. But it’s fine just to pop along on the evening.
How can networking help your business?
Networking is a great opportunity to meet potential customers, suppliers and collaborators face to face. Building those connections can help your business grow exponentially. Most people like to do business with people, so if you personally are visible, likeable and helpful your business is immediately more appealing.
But it’s not all about making sales. Having a network of other professionals you can call on can make a huge difference to your business. Most business owners will come across similar problems throughout their careers, so they may be able to share some sage words of wisdom with you.
And don’t forget, you’re not just presenting yourself to the people in the room. They will all know plenty of other people who could be your customers if you create the right impression.
The format of our meetings
Our meetings are fairly informal, but we do follow a similar agenda each month so members and visitors know what to expect.
18.00 Arrive, networking
18.50 Update from directors
19.30 networking to close at 20.00
Our top networking tips
- Bring some business cards – you never know who you might meet!
- Prepare a short 1-2 minute introduction to your business. You will have the opportunity to stand up and tell the group who you are and what you do. If you’ve already thought about it, there’s less pressure on the day
- Think about what sort of business it would be helpful for you to connect with and see who in the room can help you
- Listen to what other people have to say; don’t just talk about yourself!
