The Cellar House in Eaton, Norwich, Named National ‘Community Hero’
The Cellar House in Eaton Wins National Award
Just two-and-a-half years since taking over the pub, Victoria MacDonald and her team at The Cellar House have won the title of ‘Enterprise Inns National Community Pub of the Year 2015’ (as well as topping their regional category).
Victoria received the award at a glittering ceremony with champagne reception at the Mecure Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa near Blackburn last night (Tuesday 6th October).
Along with the auspicious title, as National winner The Cellar House receives a prize of £6,000 to spend on developing the pub’s position within the local community.
As Victoria returns to Norwich, it’ll be business as usual very quickly, with a Halloween Beer Festival on the immediate horizon and her new role as village Postmistress in early 2016. The Cellar House has been given the go-ahead to run the local Eaton Village Post Office from the pub, and this will be operational by the end of January 2016.
Of this latest award win (The Cellar House was also Regional Winner of the Best Bar Team for the East Anglia and East Midlands Region in the Great British Pub Awards 2015), Victoria says:
“I still can’t quite believe it! This is testament to the top team at The Cellar House”.
