Welcome to our May newsletter. We hope to bring you up to the minute information about what's going on in the world of buy local. buy local First Anniversary Celebration

Local businesses and members were out in force on 13th May to show their support for
buy local
at its first anniversary at The Great Hospital Halls, Bishopgate Norwich.

Wine, Supper and birthday cake was enjoyed by all, along with an opportunity to experience a tour of the Eagle Ward and St Helen's church in one of Norwich's most distinguished older buildings.

Member Gary Watson of Hangman Curtains & Blinds, received the award for 'Membership Champion, May 2008' for achieving the highest rate of member referalls.

Catering was provided by Wild Rocket Catering for Events.

All buy local members were included in a printed list given out at the event.

The Directors would like to thank guest speakers Chris Futter, Managing Director of Red Orange Ltd, Sam Williams, Senior Reporter for Norwich Evening News and Terry Lee, Breakfast presenter from Future Radio and all who attended this event.


Members of buy local now have some new tools to help them get even more from the website.

Edit personal and business details to help keep the directory up to date at all times.

A Discussion forum in which you can seek help and offer advice to other members.

Log into the secure members area to access these new tools.



Forthcoming Events

Lord Mayor's Reception

buy local will be attending a reception regarding findings of the recent 'Doing Business In Norwich' research and procurement initiative. If you would us to represent your business by taking along any promotional literature, please send into the office before Monday 9th June.

Royal Norfolk Show

buy local will be having a stand at the Norfolk Show on the 25th and 26th June, within the FSB Marquee.

Lord Mayor's Procession

There may be an opportunity to have a buy local carnival float, advertising members businesses, at this years Lord Mayor's procession on Saturday 5th July 2008

Members are invited to accompany the float and to come in costume under the theme of 'local businesses 200 years ago'. Anyone prepared to help in any way atall, please contact debbie.harvey@buylocalnorfolk.org.uk
